"I just got the Evo 8 back from full function and I am extremely pleased.
These guys are the nicest and coolest guys around."

-thedik @ NorCalEvo

FULL FUNCTION - EVO III 16G TURBO

This is the stock turbo from the Lancer Evolution III. This turbo resembles the 16G turbos but has a few features that bump its compressor flow rating from 505CFM to 550CFM. The EVOIII's turbine housing's casting is a higher grade steel than the traditional 16 and Big 16G turbochargers but is lighter with less material due to it's casting design. It looks as though Mitsubishi put this housing on a diet and trimmed away all the excess material.

The EVOIII turbo weighs in a full half pound less.

The Compressor Wheel Exducer is 2.68"

The Compressor Wheel Inducer is approximately 1.89"

The Turbine Housing Outlet is 2.4".

The following dynocharts are typical results of EVOIII Turbo's using California 91 octane at 21PSI and 24PSI with methanol injection. The test vehicle was a 1998 AWD Eclipse with the following parts.

-3" Turbo back Exhaust
-FFTec front mount intercooler
-1G throttle body
-DSM link Engine Management
-660cc injectors
-255 fuel pump

Dyno test 1 was performed with 91 octane only and consistently produced mid to high 12 second quater mile times.

Dyno test 2 was performed with 91 octane and a 50/50 mix of methanol and consistently produced low 12 to high 11 second quater mile times.
